Elias Elhardt and Enni Rukajärvi: Winners with spectacular performances

As many as 3000 visitors pilgrimed to the seventh Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam in the Atomic Superpark on the Dachstein glacier last weekend. In a height of 2.600 meters and in the valley, QParks and the Schladming-Dachstein region have shown how to entertain the scene with a diverse and fully loaded schedule: Roughly hundred riders from more than 15 different nations, a bunch of hot parties and a top-class slopestyle set-up.

[14.11.09] And the Winners of the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam 09 are...

Alriiight!! Finally, the outstanding winners of the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam 2009 can be announced! The level of the finals was as high as the finals of a TTR 4star event promise to be, and maybe even higher! The participants really proved their skills and showed that they really deserve to be representatives of Europes boarder-elite! And now the facts:

The winners of the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam Twothousandandnine are......the German 'monster-tamer' Elias ELHARDT and the Finnish snowboard-queen Enni RUKAJAERVI!!! But there's also an Austrian success to celebrate: Hallein local Max WEICKL could defend his awesome 3rd place from the qualification!!!

We've seen smashing double-front-flips and head-spinning 1080's, but the best trick also went to Elias Elhardt, who introduced his special trick Backside 1080 Doublecork! His winning line also included a FS7 and a Backflip.

[14.11.09] Great first run for Max Weickl on the second day!

At the first run of the men's final, the Austrian rider Max Weickl showed someawesome tricks. His performance with a Backside 720, Backside 720 and the final Frontside5 will probabely kick him into the Super Finals in the afternoon. Another great ride was staged by the Fin Uotila Ville, who stoked the audience with a Cab 9, a FS 9 and a SW BS 1! The final results and more to be announced soon!

[14.11.09] Stefan Gimpl Sick!!!

Very bad news for the Austrian freestylers: Stefan Gimpl lies down with a bad angina and won't be able to take part today! Nevertheless, there are other hopes such as Max Weickl, who sticked a terrific 3rd place at the qualification and stoked the audience at the first run of the men's finals!

[14.11.09] Girls went for the second run in blue-bird weather conditions!

Perfect weather at the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam 2009!!! The tension can be felt in the air and everyone can't await the superfinals! However, there is still a long and exciting way to go! As promised, the girls have finished the 2nd qualifications run and the thriller goes on! The men have already started with the 1.st and 2nd run of the finals (best of 2), while now at 10:30 the pricegiving for the qualification will be going on. We've already seen some terrific airs and without a doubt we'll see more of it!

Fulminant qualifications across the board

The kick-off for the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam 2009 on the Dachstein glacier had many surprising moments to offer! At first, Friday 13th didn’t only present itself from the sunny side, however, the changing conditions demanded an extremely high rider level. Under the slogan „Shake the Tree“, the tree was shaken well enough until all riders for the final round on Saturday have been fixed!

[13.11.09] Girls 2nd Run Delayed for Saturday Morning

Due to the rather long delay in the morning, the 2nd run for the ladies had to be postponed until Saturday morning. The fog was just too thick so in order to guarantee safety, the 1st qualification run started 1,5 hours later at 11:00 a.m. Sorry to all the ladies, but we hope the weather will be way better tomorrow morning, so that you can boast with your skills with refreshed power and in wonderful conditions!

[13.11.09] Pure Excitement at the Ongoing HPJ 09!

Hi Folks! The weather's turned into a real treat, people have already put on suncream and the level gets higher and higher, since the daredevil riders are dying to get into the finals! So far we've seen a bunch of highly remarkable runs: Among others, the Tyrolian Manuel Bernert has kept the audience from breathing for some seconds by a cab 540, fs 720 and bs 720. Also, another Austrian, namely Simon Gruper stoked viewers with a switch BS 5, a BS 720 and at last a frontside 720. Another highlight so far was definitely a double frontflip by QParks-shaper Jonel Fricke from the SNOW DOME Bispingen in Germany at the last kicker!! Be prepared, there's more to follow. So much is clear: Already the qualifications are loaded with suspense and action as well as many new faces and some terrific new stylez!

[13.11.09] 1st run is on on Dachstein Glacier!

Good news: Due to the upcoming sunshine the first run just started on a high level! Now it's time for the riders to show their tricks within the next 2 hours. Up to now it's not quite sure if there will also be a second run in the afternoon. No worries - we will of course keep you informed!

[13.11.09] Heavy Fog on the Glacier, 1st qualification round delayed!

Bad news but hope in sight: The commitee will discuss in 20min how to procede. Up to now, the sight has just been too bad to guarantee a safe and thrilling spectacle, a sight to see so to speak... BUT: In this very minute the clouds are pouching and Dachstein summit is guilded by the sun. However, it needs to be estimated if the conditions are perfect enough! We'll keep you upto date folks!!!

Ok guys, the set-up has been finished so you can look forward to awesome conditions for grabbing your styles and moves at the seventh Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam 09! Our photographer already took some incredible shots at perfect weather today! Convince yourself and enjoy the moods!

[12.11.09] Eero Ettala unfortunately not at Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam!

Due to illness Eero Ettala will not start at the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam this year. But we already found an equal substitute: Matevz Petek (SLO) who won the third place last year will ride instead of Eero and promises to give his best!

We welcome everyone in Schladming, let the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam 09 begin!

[06.11.09] Get ready to ride!

Already one week before the big showdown all riders can warm up at the Dachstein Atomic Superpark. Beside the locals, quite a few will show up to seize the perfect conditions of the park.

[30.10.09] The weather god heard our prayers for this year’s Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam!

Thanks to the good snow conditions and the working efforts of the shaping crew, big parts of the pro set-up will be finalized by tomorrow, exactly one week after the completion of the beginner area. In detail this means that the double kicker line with big and medium take offs, funbox and wallride as well as the rail lines with all kinds of crazy jib features are ride able. The medium kickerline and the corner should be ready by the middle of the upcoming week.

A main reason for the big motivation of QParks Parkdesigner Bernd Mandlberger and his crew is the countdown for the Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam which takes place in less than two weeks. The team wants to get the regular Atomic Superpark Dachstein set-up into shape and then pimp it up for one of the biggest snowboard happenings in Europe! According to Bernd Mandlberger the contestline comprises a kinked-Butterbox, two big kickers with 12m and 18m, a funbox with 13m and a wallride. Furthermore there are two kickers with 10 and 13 m. That sounds very good!

Bernd mentions:” Last year two weeks prior to the contest there wasn’t even one obstacle ready because there was no snow. The truth is that we finished the whole set up one day before the event. This year we have more time and also the riders are happy. They now have enough time to prepare themselves and get some practice after the summer, and we will do our best to offer them perfect training conditions”
